ACE, the AI FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR, was the brain child of Chris Hewison in 2023 when the introduction of AI creted an opportunity to solve a major problem in Flight Straining, the Ground School. With over 13 years of flight school ownership, Chris Hewison saw first hand how students interested in learning to fly become disinterested in flying and drop out because of boring, antiquated, one-way ground school offerings. “Without a real live flight instructor helping guide the student through the learning process students become bored with the book studies and fall behind. That’s why we developed Ace, the next best thing to a real live flight instructor, but in some ways even better.”

In the Fall of 2024 Chris was introduced to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) where he partnered with the Design Lab and sponsored a Capstone project for RPI to see if they could use AI for flight training. Through that R&D the team was able to develop algorithms and content that was successful in the Ai analysis of flight simulator data. The team also won an award for best project of the year! After the course was completed, Chris reached out to the four brightest students in the Spring of 2025 and asked them if they would like to create a company to tack the problem of high student drop out rates in Flight Training ground school. The answer was a resounding YES! and Agentic Learning Solutions, LLC (Agentic) was formed in June of 2025 with a missing of making flight training more interesting and entertaining leveraging AI for the two-way communication a real live flight instructor can provide. Since then, Agentic has created an AI Flight Instructor that is available 24/7 and reacts and responds like a real live flight instructor.
